Javascript now is the only programming language that is natively supported by all web browsers. And according to GitHub, javascript is the most popular programming language in the world today. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), In 2016, there were over one million software developer jobs posted, with an expected increase of 24% by 2026 which is faster than the average of all occupations (7%).

We dug into our database, and we found that the growth rate of JavaScript developers occupations in Egypt throughout last year was 114%. While the whole software development is 93%. The more growth happens in the tech ecosystem, the more developers with pure Javascript and specific Javascript libraries and frameworks are demanded.

A study published in 2015 on the impact of big data analytics on organizations says that there is a potential value that is created through the use of data analytics. That is why companies are making significant investments in analyzing big data. These investments create many opportunities. Everybody is looking for that kind of talent that can take huge chunks of data and a few questions from companies stakeholders, and use data science techniques to answer these questions and make much better business decisions.

According to an IBM study, by 2020 the number of data science and analytics job openings are expected to grow by 15%. Which is higher than the average increase in all other sectors. In the USA, the demand for both data scientists and data engineers will grow by 39% by 2020, although the job opening remains open for 5 days longer than average. In Egypt, our analysis and data show promising opportunities for the field. The growth rate is 13% which is less than the international growth rate in data science job roles, but it is still more than the average in Egypt, compared to other job roles.

Salespeople are the ones who are responsible for building this relationship and to bridge the gap between potential customers’ needs and the product/services that an organization offers and how can they fulfill their needs to increase prospects.

  • Persuasion: Especially in advertising, you must be able to persuade others to feel a certain way about a product or a service.
  • Social perceptiveness: You must understand how readers react to certain ideas to connect with your audience.

Digital Marketer

Once upon a time developing and implementing a marketing campaign was all about running ads on television and radio, and placing print ads on billboards and magazines. Today, companies face new challenges. They have to show presence on all digital platforms, where their target customers are active. This need to engage and analyze customer online behaviors created the field of digital marketing. With everything going online, fast and more convenient, marketing became more online, digital and data-driven.

Internationally, in 2016, digital marketing job roles growth rate was faster than the average by 2%.

In Egypt, digital marketing occupations grew by 151% from 2016 to 2017.

There are some skills needed to become a digital marketing specialist:

  • Analytical skills: You will deal with lots of data. You don’t have to be the one analyzing it, but surely you will read analysis reports and make decisions based on your account performance over digital media platform.
  • Strategic thinking: Based on data you analyzed you will need to make decisions. For example, on which platform should you invest in more ads? Which platform is killing your brand and doesn’t worth the time and effort crafting content for it? What is the next step to keep all your active digital accounts performing at their best?
  • Creativity: You will need to fire up your creative mind. You will craft concepts for campaigns and digital content direction of different types. The more creative your ideas, the more relatable and engaging your campaigns.
  • Responsiveness: You have to be responsive and attentive to your audience. A high response rate, means you care about your client and their fans/audience.
  • Copy & visual storytelling: A digital marketer might be a different version of a copywriter or a creative director, but surely they don’t have to have this background.
